Professional Development
Ypsilanti Public Schools has eight professional development days throughout the school year that start in October and conclude in May. These days allow staff to meet in class or content areas to evaluate student progress, to analyze data to determine if students are grasping the material, and to interact with colleagues to absorb different teaching techniques. The teaching staff is currently utilizing the Critical Friends Group during professional development days.
Conference attendance is another means for staff to stay abreast of the latest developments in their respective work areas and to sharpen their skills.
