Graphic Arts - open to third and fourth year students.

This is a comprehensive program that trains students to perform tasks and skills involved in the production of printed material. Student projects include business cards, letterhead, flyers, brochures, greeting cards, and books. Topics covered include layout and design, paste-up, process photography and darkroom techniques, plate making, press operation, silk screening, computer graphics, desktop publishing (In Design CS), illustration (Illustrator CS), photo editing (Photoshop CS) and other aspects of the printing industry.

In this class, students may also gain a full credit in mathematics and applied arts toward their diploma. In addition, while in high school, students may earn college credits at Washtenaw Community College or to other colleges via articulation agreements with these schools. With instructor's permission, students may elect this class for a second year.
