Kindergarten Information

Perry CDC was built to be an early childhood center. It won numerous architectural awards with innovatively designed features. Classrooms with lofts, child-sized drinking fountains and windows, a fully-enclosed playground and nature courtyard, and spacious multi-purpose playrooms invite the imagination and interest of our youngest students.

As a school in the Ypsilanti Public School District, each kindergarten classroom has five computers and an audio-enhancement system. Perry has a 30-station computer lab, library, and art room. Highly qualified teaching staff with on-going professional development in early childhood education.

Students receive instruction in art, music, physical education, computers, and media. To engage the multiple intelligences that all children possess, our physical education program focuses on individual skill development accented with music and dance. We call this our "psychomotor" program. Our music classes integrate drama, theater, movement, and dance to become our "creative expressions" class.
The aligned curriculum includes a strong literacy emphasis.
