During the week of July 14, cement was poured to replace sidewalks in front of Ypsilanti High School. Inside, new tile was laid in the lower level bathrooms and locker rooms. The outside lights at the main high school entrance are also being replaced.





The parking lots and sidewalks at Perry CDC are being removed to make way for new concrete and asphalt.




Backhoes pull up the sidewalks in front of Ypsilanti High School in anticipation of new walks being poured in July.



The surface of the track has been stripped and the track is temporary closed to make way for a new drainage system and replacement surface. The poles in the tennis courts have been removed and will be reinstalled soon.


Work on the Ypsilanti High School and Estabrook pools began prior to the close of the 2007-08 school year. Already the tiles have been stripped from the pool decks, ceiling tiles and locker room doors removed in preparation for new lighting, new doors and upgrades to the facilities.


The YHS locker rooms were cleared out and the sound of a jackhammer was the order of the day, June 10. Bond renovation work is moving along at a steady pace.




As the last days of schools approached staff at Perry CDC began the massive task of packing classrooms and offices to prepare for the renovation work.




Estabrook staff worked feverishly to pitch, pack and seal materials to meet the June 9 deadline. By June 10 trucks were backing up to entrances to move the contents of the building. Already the hall carpet had been pulled up and staff in hard hats were making quick work of the task.
